Back when I lived in Barcelona, I made it a point to see as much of the Catalonian region as I could. On my off days, I would head down to the train station and hop on any train that had an interesting destination.

I had heard a bit about Sitges before going— chiefly for it’s popularity as a summer getaway.

Though it was winter when I visited, the streets were no less beautiful, and coupled with the lack of summer-seeking tourists, I often had these streets all to myself. I loved the white paintwork of the entire town, the cobblestone streets and the beautiful balconies of these houses in Sitges.

Truth be told, I did actually try sleeping in a room with a balcony once, thinking it would make for the quintessential Mediterranean experience that I’d always dreamed of. Turns out it’s a lot noisier than it is idyllic, but hey, it’s wonderful to admire from the streets outside eh?
