There used to be a negative connotation to being a ‘hopeless romantic,’ wasn’t there?

Using it to describe someone used to come dripping with cynicism; but when the world shut down two years ago and we were all faced to spend too much time on our own with little to distract us, suddenly reality became too real. We needed escapism, badly.

From taking virtual museum tours to travelling without leaving your house, these experiences became a lifeline.

And as we slowly opened up (without fully opening up), we craved experiences all the more.

Because I don’t know, life is short; romanticise your life. Go on picnics when the weather’s nice, grab discounted sushi at the supermarket in the evenings, and make the most of your weekends. Escape the noise of the city and feel like you’re in a movie every once in a while— because if you don’t romanticise your life, who’s going to do it for you? After all, we’ll never be as young as we are right now.
