Dal.komm Centrepoint: Popular Korean Coffee Joint Launches New Brunch Menu

Dal.komm Coffee is not new to Singapore, with outlets all around from Jewel Changi Airport to Funan. Known more for their drinks and desserts, that’s changed with their Centrepoint outlet launching a decently sized brunch menu earlier this year.

Here, you’ll naturally find Korean-inspired fare, and it’s interesting to see other new brunch cafes including Korean influences in their menu, both as a way to stand out from the competitive cafe scene and as a reflection of the popularity of Korean food on our island.

Thankfully, the Centrepoint outlet occupies quite a decent bit of real estate, so it can comfortably accommodate a lot more diners compared to their smaller outlets.

Essentially a crab meat pancake with carrots and spring onion, the pancake was fried pretty well with a pleasingly light batter, and was both chewy and crispy. Accompanied with a gochujang dipping sauce, the Crab Buchimgae was my favourite dish out of the three we tried.

Lastly, we had the Ssamjang Chicken Pizza (S$13.90). I generally love ssamjang paste accompanied with my meats, if anything just for the mildly spicy and salty flavours which come together beautifully when paired with hearty meat dishes. The pizza is made of a very thin crust, and combined with the dipping sauce brings together both slightly sweet and salty flavours. The texture strangely brought to mind the deep fried pizza I had at Bar Milano, though nowhere near as saturated with oil, and was therefore not too cloying.

Considering Dal.komm is normally known for their drinks and desserts, it’s nice to see them foraying into food, though considering the portions and flavours that are not too heavy, it’s not at all like eating at a proper Korean restaurant, and feel more like snacks to accompany said drinks more than anything else.

However, they do have a decently varied menu as mentioned at the start, like their Signature Coffee Chicken (S$18.90), Oven Baked Wings (S$11.90) and Kimchi Pizza (S$13.90) which are also recommended, so there’s definitely more to go around for the party should you be looking for something heavier for lunch or dinner.
